Paris:
The most visited city in the world is gearing up for several yoga events, turning many of its iconic locations into yoga hot spots.
In Paris this Sunday, the Eiffel tower will wake up as early as 6 am for a yoga session on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
A 12 kilometre boat cruise on the river Seine will carry 100 yoga instructors doing asanas listed in the common yoga protocol released by the Indian ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy. The boat will on the move for more than an hour and will pass under 13 of Paris' most beautiful bridges and along major monuments such as the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame cathedral and Musee d'Orsay.
"The cruise is the best way to visit Paris because we are in the heart of Paris, in the centre of everything," Charlotte Bruel, President of Bateaux Mouches cruise told NDTV.
"It's a town really in movement but there will be the calm and peace of yoga. So it will be I think a great day," she added.
More than 3,000 people are expected to participate in a yoga session in the park of La Villette in the north of Paris.
The city of Marseille in the south of France will have yoga on the beach and in the neighboring principality of Monaco, the Monte Carlo casino will host a yoga session on its terrace.
The Indian embassy has collaborated with scores of yoga groups across France. Events are organised in 28 venues across France in 20 cities.
"There's been quite an overwhelming response from the public to participate. In some cases we had do to lucky draws as we only have limited room", said Apoorva Srivastava, Counsellor, Press, Info and Culture, Indian Embassy.
Independent yoga groups are also organising events all over France.
