Four children, two adults die in Pennsylvania house fire

Pottsville, Pennsylvania: A dispatcher says four children and two adults have died in a house fire in eastern Pennsylvania.

Schuylkill (SKOO'-kul) County emergency dispatch supervisor Bill Lindenmuth says the fire broke out around 11:55 p.m. Sunday at a home in Pottsville and that firefighters later found the bodies inside. The blaze was declared under control shortly before 1 a.m.

Names and ages of the victims haven't been released.

Pottsville fire Chief Todd March says crews had to proceed carefully through the building because of the extensive amount of damage. The cause of the blaze wasn't immediately known and a Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal was at the scene.

Messages left with state police and the coroner's office weren't immediately returned.
