That is what Booking.com highlights in its Travel Predictions 2026 report. Calling this the "Era of You," the report shows how Indian travellers are moving away from rigid itineraries and choosing destinations that match their mood. For summer 2026 (May 1 to June 30), international travel is clearly having a moment, especially to destinations towards the East.

Tokyo has become the leading favourite, while Osaka has moved up from #22 to #8, and Kyoto has risen from #32 to #10.
Phu Quoc (#31 to #10) and Seoul (#27 to #12) have also improved their rankings compared to last year. Whether it is cultural exploration, culinary experiences, shopping, or beach vacations, these destinations cater to a broad spectrum of Indian travellers with diverse interests this summer.
