Vir Das Sparks Flight Etiquette Debate

In the caption, Vir asked, "Genuine question. You're eating a meal. Dude next to you does this. Starts scratching one foot with the other. For like ten mins. What are you doing next? This was across from me on the flight. Aisle seat, poor chap tried to look away and concentrate on his meal. You?"

The post attracted more than 42,000 views and a range of reactions. Some social media users argued the behaviour needed to be called out, while others advised Vir to "mind his own business".

One user wrote, "Ask nicely or nothing. They paid to be able to do that. Maybe act like I'd throw up if this continues."

Another added, "This is not allowed in US airlines. You can complain, its unhygienic and is strictly prohibited."

Someone else commented, "Book a business class next time and if you can't then reprogram your mind to ignore this next time."

An individual said, "I would have asked him to put his feet down. This is an airplane, a shared space, not his living room. Uncivilised hai log ab kya hi karein."

"Yes shut up and focus on your meal. He's not getting the place dirty or spoiling for others. What's wrong with it. I'm confused!!" read a comment.

"Inform the flight attendant. They'll deal with it. Don't directly tell them to lower their feet. It'll cause unnecessary confrontation," remarked a user.
