Swiss International Air Lines has expanded its India operations with the launch of a new Bengaluru service from Zurich. The new route will mark the airline's debut service to southern India and its third Indian destination, following Delhi and Mumbai. The carrier will run five flights per week, operating from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027.

The airline said the service is designed to cater to increasing demand from corporate travellers, the technology sector, high-end leisure passengers and Europe's NRIs. 

Flight LX140 will depart from Zurich at 1:20 pm and will land in Bengaluru at 2:55 am the next day. The return flight LX141 will leave Bengaluru at 4:50 am and will reach Zurich at 10:50 pm the same day. The flights will be available daily except Mondays and Wednesdays out of Zurich, and Tuesdays and Thursdays out of Bengaluru.

Bookings for the new Zurich–Bengaluru route will open on May 19 on swiss.com and through travel agency partners. 

Currently, Bengaluru has direct flights to five European cities - London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Munich via British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Lufthansa.

SWISS also confirmed its new Airbus A350 will expand to more long-haul routes, including Johannesburg and Shanghai, after launching on Boston and Seoul flights. The airline expects five A350 to be in service by year-end. All will feature the updated SWISS Senses cabin across every class.

Alongside the Bengaluru launch, SWISS will scale back some Geneva routes due to ongoing global shortages of aircraft and engine parts impacting its Airbus A220 fleet. Flights from Geneva to Berlin, Hamburg and Pristina will be paused for the winter season. 

For the 2026/27 winter season, SWISS plans to operate to 88 destinations from Zurich and Geneva. That includes 24 intercontinental routes and 60 European destinations out of Zurich.
