Global premium smartphone sales grew eight percent YoY in H1 2025, according to Counterpoint Research. Apple retained its top position with a 62 percent market share, followed by Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi. Google climbed to the fifth spot this time, thanks to strong Pixel 9 sales, which doubled YoY.

India’s tablet market saw a 32.2 percent YoY decline in shipments in the first half of 2025, according to IDC. According to IDC, India’s smartphone market shipped 70 million units in H1 2025, growing 0.9 percent YoY. In Q2 alone, shipments rose 7.3 percent YoY to 37 million. The growth was driven by new model launches across all segments, price cuts on older phones, better offline margins, and strong marketing.
