Karimnagar:
A man and his wife were murdered in a village near Karimnagar today over a love affair involving the couple's son, police said.
The incident took place in Chandapalli village, nearly 40 km from Karimnagar. The deceased were identified as Godugu Pochalu (45) and his wife Rajeshwari (40).
The daughter of a villager, N Chandraiah, was in love with the couple's son, who was, however, not interested in the relationship, police said.
Unable to accept the rejection, the girl ended her life by consuming insecticide recently. Chandraiah held Pochalu responsible for his daughter's death.
Today heated arguments broke out between Chandraiah and Pochalu. Soon, Chandraiah and his associates attacked the couple with an iron rod, resulting in their instant death, police said.
A case of double murder has been registered but no arrest has been made, they added.
