Activists threaten indefinite fast till Yesudas is allowed entry in temple

Thrissur, Kerala: Activists of a charitable organisation today threatened to go on an indefinite fast in front of the famous Guruvayur temple from May 1 demanding granting of permission to music maestro KJ Yesudas to enter the temple, where non-hindus are barred from offering worship.

'Janasevana Munnani' president Soman Pillai told newsmen here that he would lead 10 persons in the fast and would continue it till such time the renowned singer was allowed entry.

The contention of the Munnani was that Yesudas had rendered several songs in praise of Lord Krishna, the presiding deity of Guruvayur, and so temple officials should allow him in.
