On October 21, Abhishek Asthana booked an Ola ride to the airport for himself and his brother, but his driver cancelled the ride- while he was forced to pay the cancellation fee. He posted about the incident on Twitter with a hilarious analogy:
Yesterday, Ola charged cancellation fee even when the Driver denied duty, it's like u ask "Samosa hai?"- Gabbbar Singh Tax (@GabbbarSingh) October 22, 2017
Shopkeeper says "No" & takes 10 Rs
While the cab company reversed the charges, they also went one step ahead:
Charges reversed and sorry for the trouble. Now, where do we send the samosas?- Ola (@Olacabs) October 23, 2017
Yes, they actually sent Mr Asthana and his brother two samosas for their troubles:
While many appreciated Ola's response, others felt that Mr Awasthy could have gotten a better deal with a different analogy:
You should have used a jewellery example. Aap ki pas gold ring hai?- Shrikanth (@afterdark0600) October 25, 2017
You should have made the analogy with a iphone- pacman (@breakindhabit) October 25, 2017
Ola must be thanking that you didnt mention German Chocolate Pastries...:-)- (@HonestWordsOnly) October 25, 2017
But at least now you know what to do the next time your driver cancels your ride!
