Dubai-based Indian businessman Rizwan Sajan has assured his entire workforce of more than 6,000 employees that their jobs are safe despite the ongoing conflict in West Asia. The founder and chairman of Danube Group made the pledge through an Instagram post that quickly went viral, drawing praise from thousands of followers across social media platforms.

"In good times, everyone talks about growth. But in difficult times, your values are tested," Sajan wrote. He added that his employees had trusted him and helped build the Danube Group from the ground up, and that it was now his responsibility to stand by them.

He confirmed that there would be no redundancies across the group and that all salaries would continue to be paid on time.

The post received an outpouring of appreciation online. One user wrote that it was not just 6,000 employees but 6,000 families who were affected, calling Sajan a true leader. Others described him as "inspiring," "a good human being," and "the best leader."

Sajan is one of the most well-known Indian entrepreneurs in the Gulf region. He arrived in Dubai in 1993 with very little money and began his career working at a hardware shop. That same year, he founded a small trading firm called Danube. Two decades later, in 2014, he launched Danube Properties, which has since become one of the most prominent real estate developers in the UAE.

His business interests now span Bahrain, India, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and China, with the group reporting annual revenues of AED 5.13 billion. He has been recognised among the Top 100 Indian Leaders in the UAE by the country's Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and was named among the Top 10 Most Impactful Real Estate Leaders of 2025 by Forbes Middle East.

Danube Properties is also known for developing a 55-storey commercial tower named after Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, reflecting the company's strong ties with Indian culture and its wide appeal among the South Asian diaspora in the region.

Reflecting on his journey, Sajan has previously said that the UAE remains a land of opportunity that has enabled foreign professionals and entrepreneurs not only to grow personally but also to contribute meaningfully to the nation's society and economy.
