- Mumbai Airport partnered with Blinkit to launch quick commerce at Mumbai airport Terminal 2
- Passengers can order essentials via Blinkit app and get deliveries at gates and lounges
- Items include chargers, snacks, baby care, and approved beverages from in-terminal stock
In a move set to redefine the airport retail experience, Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) has partnered with Blinkit to launch India's first in-terminal quick commerce delivery service at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).
The service, now operational at Terminal 2 (domestic departures), allows passengers to order essential items through the Blinkit app and have them delivered directly within the airport, including boarding gates, lounges, the food court and select partner outlets.
From forgotten phone chargers and travel accessories to snacks, books, baby care products and personal essentials, travellers can now receive deliveries within minutes, handled by trained on-ground personnel. Permissible liquids such as packaged water, juices and cold beverages are sourced from approved in-terminal inventory, in compliance with airport security regulations.
An AAHL spokesperson said the initiative reflects the operator's focus on enhancing digital integration across its airports. "Adani Airports is reimagining how digital services can enhance the airport experience. Bringing app-based convenience into the terminal allows passengers to make better use of their time and raises the overall service standard," the spokesperson said.
For Blinkit, the collaboration marks its entry into a high-frequency transit environment where convenience is critical and time is limited. The airport setting offers a high-intent consumer base, extending quick commerce beyond residential neighbourhoods into a dynamic travel ecosystem.
Industry observers say the initiative could significantly alter non-aeronautical revenue streams for airports by blending digital retail with physical infrastructure. For AAHL, which operates multiple airports across India, the rollout signals a broader strategy to leverage technology for passenger-centric growth.
With Terminal 2 handling substantial passenger traffic daily, the service aims to address common travel-day oversights, whether it's a last-minute need for a gadget accessory, a quick snack before boarding or a child-care essential packed away in check-in luggage.
The introduction of app-based in-terminal delivery also brings a new layer of accessibility and price transparency to airport retail, traditionally perceived as premium-priced and time-bound.
