So before you can go ahead and bring out your trusted rouge tube, make note of the right lipstick techniques, some straight from the star herself.

1. By no means should you attempt red lipstick in a moving vehicle or without a mirror. Red lips are like surgery; they require a steady hand and incredible precision. Make sure you're in a steady position, look straight ahead and apply slowly. That's the mark of an expert, which Sushmita seems to be.

2. No one likes the ungainly mark of lipstick on their coffee mug, especially after spending ages perfecting it. So once you've applied it, blot with a tissue, apply translucent powder over the tissue and finish off with another coat. It'll give it that coveted matte finish and keep it in place for hours.
