The Oscars have a habit of gluing us to our seats for three hours straight. Part of that is to see what Hollywood has turned up in, the other half is for the drama. With so many acclaimed films, rehearsed shticks and incredible names in the Dolby Theatre, you can expect there to be many moments which leave us ecstatic, grinning or speechless. The 90th Academy Awards were no different and these seven moments from the night will be remembered for years to come.

1. Kimmel's Opening Monologue

A good host with perfect timing and a well-rehearsed bit is important to carry the award ceremony steadily. Jimmy Kimmel with his opening monologue, didn't fail to deliver. He touched upon everything that was on top of our minds and gave it a light-hearted spin. From last year's Best Picture mix-up to even sexual harassment, Kimmel came in strong.

2. No More Long Speeches

While award show speeches can get longer that desired, in his opening monologue, host Jimmy Kimmel promised an incentive for the Academy Award winner with the shortest speech - a jet ski. Modelled by Helen Mirren herself, this would be enough to cut short those speeches which go on and on. At the end of the night, the winner of the jet ski was revealed as Mark Bridges, who won the Oscar for Best Achievement in Costume Design for Phantom Thread.

3. #MeToo Reignited

Although the star-studded attendees didn't go for a dress code blackout, the political tones of #MeToo hung heavy in the air and were even reignited. One such instance was when Ashley Judd, Salma Hayek and Annabella Sciorra took the stage in a segment dedicated to Time's Up. The three women have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct and spoke about how the movement has helped many voices be heard and opened a new path.

4. Kobe Bryant, Basketball Legend And Oscar Winner

You may know Kobe Bryant as the professional athlete who shoots hoops like a magician but after tonight, that's Oscar winner Kobe Bryant to you. He made history as the first person to win a sporting championship and an Oscar. With animator Glen Keane, Kobe won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Feature for Dear Basketball. The short film is based on a poem Bryant penned in 2015 to announce his retirement from the Los Angeles Lakers. However, CBS News reported that Kobe's previous sexual assault allegations from 2003 resurfaced post the win, in today's Time's Up era.

6. Tiffany Haddish And Maya Rudolph

Ever wondered how stars manage to look poised and elegant for the hours they spend on the red carpet? The hottest, most hilarious chicks on the block, actors Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph break it down for you. From painful high heels to the Oscars so white debacle, these presenters got the Internet rooting for them to be next year's hosts.

7. Starry Intermission

The success of a movie depends largely on the movie-going audience. Which is why, Jimmy Kimmel and a squad of stars including Armie Hammer, Gal Gadot and Anson Elgort surprised viewers at another screen who were watching A Wrinkle In Time with snacks and hot dog cannons. Best part is, an audience member even turned into a presenter at the surprise.
