The Guinness World Records have always been a fascinating way to bring to the attention of the masses to some really interesting and out-of-the-box facts and records made by skillful and talented individuals. This woman from Nigeria showed her talent as she weaved the longest wig. Helen Williams from Laos, Nigeria has created the world's longest handmade wig and has successfully made a Guinness World Record by doing so. The handmade wig stretches to 351.28 metres which equals 1,152 feet and 5 inches.

According to the official website of Guinness World Records, Helen made the record on July 7, 2023 when she wove the longest handmade wig. Helen is a professional wig maker and weaves numerous wigs every week. She spent around 11 days completing the wig. Helen grew up reading the annual Guinness World Record books and thought of making this record as it was something she could achieve.
In an article from Guinness World Record, Helen Williams says, "Finding the materials to make the longest wig was not an easy task. My experience as a wigmaker helped a lot." She completed the underlay of the wig with wig-cap netting and black fabric. Then she attached it to a bicycle helmet. She used 1000 bundles of hair, 12 cans of hair spray, 35 tubes of hair glue, and 6250 hair clips to complete the wig.
She also shared that even though she is a professional wig maker, the experience was not easy and she felt exhausted while making the wig. But she was encouraged by her family and friends to maintain the focus and managed to grab the record.
