Malaika Arora's fitness regimen is our daily dose of motivation. Even on weekends, she makes sure not to skip workouts. On Sunday, the actress shared a montage of pictures on Instagram, where she was seen devoting her time to performing yoga at home. Dressed in a black sports bralette and grey shorts, Malaika displayed her expertise in pulling off the cobra pose, also known as Bhujangasana. She kept her hands pinned to the floor and arched her body backwards while her legs were stretched behind. Cobra pose helps to strengthen the muscles, including the hamstrings, glutes, spinal extensors, arms and shoulders. The activity improves posture, promotes flexibility, reduces lower back pain, enhances blood circulation and uplifts mood. Malaika's yoga session was also about relaxing and soaking in some Vitamin D. “Oh hello September. August you were lovely and demure,” she captioned the post.
Before that, Malaika Arora offered fitness enthusiasts some tips on how to “shake off lower back pain”. To “feel better”, she recommended doing the cat and cow pose aka bitilasana marjariasana. In a step-by-step guide, Malaika demonstrated how to execute the asana. First, she began by inhaling and taking position with her hands shoulder-width apart. Her knees were below the hips. In the following step, Malaika urged viewers to “exhale and come into cow pose”. “Flowing into happiness, one pose at a time,” read her side note. Bitilasana marjariasana increases the flexibility around the spine, neck and shoulder. It also releases upper back and neck tension and can reduce anxiety and stress promoting better sleep.
Malaika Arora loves to incorporate an element of challenge into her workouts. Displaying a similar feat, the actress tried her hands at “danda yoga”. This unique yoga practice is exhibited with a bamboo stick. Malaika executed a range of movements with the stick, impressing us and how. Danda yoga helps to promote body alignment, tones the muscles and builds strength around the hamstrings and spinal joints.
We eagerly await more fitness inspiration from Malaika Arora.
