When it comes to weight loss, there really isn't any one perfect formula that can and will work for everyone. Weight loss and the way each person loses weight depends on many factors ranging from a person's genetics, levels of activity, the kind of food a person can and does consume, any medical issues they might face, and so on. Even with all these different factors that affect weight loss, almost everyone has one thing in common - the sense of joy and achievement they feel having finally shed off those extra kilos. Losing weight in order to make your body a healthier one is not an easy feat, but it is a necessary measure in order to live a more wholesome and active life. Losing weight when you're a few kilos or pounds over what you should actually be can do wonders for your skin, hair, body and even mind. So if you've lost weight in a healthy manner, and for a healthier mind and body, well done.

1. Don't quit your weight loss routine abruptly

A big mistake many people make is getting off their weight loss regime as soon as they see that they've hit their goal weight. You might have lost weight, but that doesn't mean that eating all that junk food won't affect your body anymore. Stick to your routine for a while and wean your body off, if you must, slowly. If you lost weight by going to the gym 5-6 times a week and eating around 1200 calories a day, don't suddenly skip your workout altogether and start eating unmeasured portions of food. That can actually make you gain weight faster than before. You can reduce the number of times you hit the gym in a week and increase your calorie intake eventually, but you must give your body time to adapt to your new routine.

2. Make a sustainable eating plan

Always being on some diet or another is actually a part of the problem. You might have needed to adopt a severe diet plan when you had extra kilos to shed, but for your life in general, you should try and create a healthy meal plan that you will actually be able to sustain. A healthy approach to weight loss involves including healthy foods that you like to your meals and treating yourself in moderation. An easy way to measure how much and what you're eating is by exercising portion control and measuring your macros on a daily basis. This way, you're less likely to overeat and maintain a healthy calorie intake.

3. Find a workout that works for you

Whether its a run in the park, a pilates class, weight training, swimming or zumba - no matter what the activity, find one that you enjoy and are likely to be consistent with. In order to keep the weight off, you've got to keep moving. There is no way to stay in shape and be fit unless you incorporate some exercise into your daily life. If you find something you enjoy, you're less likely to make excuses or feel lazy and more likely to get up and be active.
