Lakme Fashion Week Day 5: Kareena Kapoor Stuns As The Grand Finale Showstopper

The most anticipated part of Lakme Fashion Week is the final day, for a very specific reason i.e. the Grand Finale. The curtain closer is the most awaited event which combines celebrity quotient with high fashion and of course, the starry showstopper.

This season at Lakme Fashion Week's Winter Festive 2018 edition, Monisha Jaising was the prestigious designer for the Grand Finale showcase. Monisha is known for infusing glamour into formal and casual wear with a glitzy touch and the closing show of Lakme Fashion Week was no different. On a backdrop of stained glass windows and velvet curtains, the show began with a scintillating performance from Cirque du Soleil. Once they left the audience enthralled with their mind-boggling act, the fashion show began.

Models showcasing Monisha's collection sashayed down the runway in slinky dresses, fitted jumpsuits and cutout gowns. Sparkle was of prime importance as most garments saw glitter and embellishment of some kind. Leather, metallic finishes and sequins reigned supreme over the collection. And then came the moment many had been waiting for throughout Lakme Fashion Week; the arrival of Kareena Kapoor.

The Bollywood star wore a green-grey iridescent ensemble of a pleated skirt, cutout torso and off-shoulder strapless blouse. Sans jewellery, all eyes were on Kareena's flashy look. This was paired with large waves parted down the centre, grey smokey eyes and nude lips.

It has been a particularly spectacular season for Kareena Kapoor. In Lakme Fashion Week tradition, she has sizzled on the ramp as their Grand Finale showstopper. Besides that, she has also launched her first signature makeup collection with the brand.
