Anoushka Shankar's musical endeavour has taken her to Iceland this time. The musician is currently in Reykjavik, taking a "much-needed day off", feeling "reborn" and ready to perform in  Zurich and Geneva. In a series of pictures she dropped on Instagram, Anoushka documented her time spent in the capital of Iceland. She took a refreshing dip in the steamy waters of the Sky Lagoon. Surrounded by towering cliffs and cloud-laden blue skies, the location looked mesmerising. She also embarked on a casual stroll in the streets of Reykjavik, overlooking the buildings and distant snow-capped mountains. The clear skies were a picturesque bonus.

Known as the largest church in Iceland, you can make the most of your time at the place by riding on the elevator to reach the summit of the tower. From there you can soak in the beauty of the surroundings with an unobstructed view. 

Videy Island

For a quaint day out, take a ferry ride to Videy Island. You may capture the breathtaking vistas, observe the aerial life, and discover ancient ruins. The vast network of trails allows you to explore the island on foot or by bicycle as well.

Perlan

Also called The Pearl, Perlan is a natural history museum and planetarium in Reykjavik. Experience the force of nature, including earthquakes and volcanoes, witness the mighty and enormous whales underwater, or take a casual walk in a real, 100-meter-long ice cave.

Grotta Lighthouse

Shop at Kolaportio

For a wholesome shopping experience, head to Kolaportio. Indulge in local cuisines, and try out smooth liquorice and delectable doughnuts. Buy local products, souvenirs, woollen jumpers, second-hand records, and other interesting collectibles.
