In A Red Dior Gown And Flip Flops, Comfort Comes Before Cannes' 'Heels Only' Rule For Jennifer Lawrence

Bold fashion choices are reigning at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2023. For Jennifer Lawrence, style and comfort go hand-in-hand. Her fiery red Cannes red carpet look has been making headlines. At the premiere of Anatomy of a Fall, the actress wore a custom ball gown by Dior. The flowy silhouette featured narrow straps and a soft ruffle at the bustline. She also carried a matching red wrap, which was draped across her elbows as she walked the red carpet. Initially, Jennifer paired her gown with a matching pair of red pointed pumps. Shortly after, Jennifer the disregarded the ‘heels only' rule of the Cannes Film Festival by switching her footwear for a pair of flip flops.

The black open-tied flats definitely raised some eyebrows as Cannes has followed a strict 'heels only' policy for female attendees in the past. The actress took the minimalistic route for her glam as she opted for rosy cheeks, eyeliner and ample mascara, as well as matte pink lips.

Jennifer Lawrence was also spotted for the photocall of Sahra Mani's documentary Bread and Roses at the ongoing Cannes film festival. For the elegant affair, she made a jaw-dropping entrance in a draped pale gray Dior gown. The Oscar-winning actress' pearly dress, from the brand's spring 2023 couture, showcased a sleeveless silhouette and long skirt elevated by a sheer base and interlocking rows of delicate crochet. The outfit also had a hint of bohemian romance from a plunging low-cut back, which gave us a glimpse of the silk bra with scrunched straps and a matching bodice that was cinched by a thin bow. She teamed her ensemble with a nonchalant updo and natural-toned makeup, to create a naturally glowing effect. To complement the glam, Jennifer opted for a silver watch-chain bracelet, as well as a pair of drop earrings set with white topaz and black enamel. She finished off with a set of metallic gold sandals.
