But have you ever wondered why most of the Christmas films are linked to New York City? This is because Christmas in NYC is nothing short of holiday magic. Currently, the holiday spirit has taken over every corner of the Big Apple. How do we know? An NYC Travel site recently dropped a series of pictures and videos that give us an insight into how the city spreads holiday cheer. FOMO alert? The opening frame shows glimpses of a vibrant parade with massive elf balloons. Countless New Yorkers can be seen participating in the parade in Santa and Elf costumes. The city is beaming with joy in the shades of red and green. Next, it is hard to tear our eyes away from the massive chariot of Santa Claus and his reindeer. Don't miss the tiny elves' houses in the front.

The city is covered under a sheet of fairy lights. Amusement parks are bustling with kids. It truly looks like scenes from a Christmas movie recreated in real life. The best places to visit in NYC during Christmas makes a list too long to jot down, but here are some of the more popular attractions: the Rockefeller Center for its skating rink and giant Christmas tree (featured in Home Alone 2), GingerBread Lane—the world's largest gingerbread village—in Manhattan, Winter Village at Bryant Park, Brooklyn Botanic Garden's gorgeous, after-dark illuminations, Holiday Train Show at Grand Central Station. In addition to these, according to Time Out, "the Rockefeller Center, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Bronx Zoo, the Apollo Theater and more iconic New York City landmarks have been shrunken down and sugar-fied into gingerbread re-creations. Twenty-three gingerbread houses comprise this year's "Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off" at the Museum of the City of New York. The display is now on view through January 15 at the museum on the Upper East Side."
