Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon - if you watch television, are part of any form of social media, or are basically not living under a rock, it would be hard not to know who these women are. Those of us who have chosen a life of willful ignorance might be excused. When you have women as fierce, fabulous and famous as them, it's hard to ignore their virtual but perpetual presence in your life. From playing key roles in some of Bollywood's biggest blockbusters, to being on every second magazine cover, to constantly being on TV thanks to the myriad brands they sign on - these women are everywhere. But what's even more special about these women is that even with all their stardom, they seem to love and always make time for their families. And for these 5 Bollywood stars, their sisters seem to play a crucial part in their lives.

Now their sisters may not be as famous as them, but they sure seem to be relevant, setting trends and making a mark in their own ways. Here are some star siblings that are on their way to becoming stars themselves; even if not in or through Bollywood.

1. Isabelle Kaif (Katrina Kaif's sister)

Isabelle Kaif seems to have made a recent shift to Mumbai. Whether or not Katrina's younger sister will make an entry into Bollywood is unknown, but Isabelle has been quick in bagging deals and signing on work in India. Other than when Isabelle is busy shooting for magazine covers with her older sister, she seems to be attending events and also shooting for advertisements with brands such as Lakme. The curiosity and public interest around Isabelle and her life definitely seems to be building. With a sister life Katrina always looking out for you, we suppose it couldn't be any other way.

2. Anisha Padukone (Deepika Padukone's sister)

Anisha Padukone followed her father's footsteps to become an athlete from a very young age. This 27 year old is a pro-golfer and is using her graduate degree in psychology, sociology and economics well by having joined her sister, Deepika Padukone's, Love Love Laugh Foundation as one of the directors. Anisha might not be heading for a career in Bollywood, but she does seem to be working hard towards making a difference in the field of mental health. She is also using her influence to advocate women's rights and empowerment. We think that makes her quite the star.

3. Nupur Sanon (Kriti Sanon's sister)

Nupur Sanon, much like Isabelle Kaif, seems to have made a recent shift to Mumbai and is often seen making appearances with her older sister, Kriti Sanon. While Nupur is rumoured to be rooting for a debut in Bollywood, there is no actual confirmation of the same. Nonetheless, this star sister seems to be gathering quite a fan following of her own, with 499k and counting followers on Instagram.

4. Shaheen Bhatt (Alia Bhatt's sister)

Alia Bhatt's older sister, Shaheen, is said to be a writer. We don't think that's surprising given the eloquent way in which she often captions her pictures on Instagram. But what makes Shaheen stand out is the bravery with which she spoke about her depression in an attempt to spread awareness about it, while allowing people to peek into her own personal life and space. In 2016, Shaheen shared her experience with depression and is often, since then, seen posting messages about it on social media. We think Shaheen deserves a big thumbs up for being so vocal about an issue many prefer to keep to themselves.

Here's the post Shaheen shared talking about her battle with depression.

I've lived with depression on and off since I was about 13 years old. This is not a revelation or a confession. Those who know me know this about me. It's not something I take any pains to hide, I'm not ashamed of it or particularly troubled by it. It's just a part of who I am. I have days where I feel good and then I have days where I don't. One minute everything's fine and the next it's like someone turned the light off inside my head. I go quiet and it's difficult to get out of bed. Like it always does the world around me loses focus and I struggle to make sense of it. Sometimes these bouts last an hour - sometimes they last days. Today, I'm on day 4. I say I live with depression rather than I struggle with it because for me (and I speak only for myself here) I don't see why it has to be a struggle. I once read an idea by an American essayist called Richard Mitchell which stayed with me; it's now become how I try to approach the dips in my week or month. The idea is this: To be sick, or to suffer, is inevitable. But to become bitter and vindictive in sickness and suffering and to surrender to irrationality, supposing yourself the innocent and virtuous victim of the evils intentions of the world, is not inevitable. The appropriate answer to the question - Why me? is the other question - Why not me? *** Why am I writing about this? Well, I spend a fair amount of time on social media during the course of my day and today I found myself looking for something to post because it's been a few days since I've posted anything. I couldn't find anything so I figured I'd just talk about this - how I'm doing, instead of what I'm doing. It's as simple as that, and we could all stand to do a little more of it. P.S. That picture just seemed to work in this context.
