7 Kitchen Ingredients Which Can Be Good Facial Bleaches

1. Gram Flour

Besan or gram flour is one of the best natural ingredients used for brightening facial skin and is also available easily in Indian kitchens. The coarse nature of the flour particles make it an effective scrub which can be used on the face as well as the entire body. Add water or warm milk to the flour and apply the paste to your face and leave it for 20 minutes. Once dry, rinse it off with water.

2. Turmeric

Haldi has been an age-old ingredient for reducing darkness on the skin and bringing in the natural glow. You can use turmeric powder simply with cold water, honey and milk and apply the thick paste over your face. Do not leave it for a very long time as turmeric can leave behind a yellow stain. Rinse it off with cool water.

3. Lemon

We have always known about the bleaching properties of lemons. You can squeeze two lemons into a bowl and take cotton balls to dab it over your face. You can also add rose water to the lemon juice to give you softer skin. Let it settle for 15 to 20 minutes before you wash it away. Be careful of your eyes while applying lemon water on your face.

4. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has numerous beauty benefits, one of which is that it is a cooling agent which relaxes the skin and fastens the process of regenerating dead cells and tissues. When aloe vera is applied over blemishes or dark spots, they get reduced naturally because of its regeneration properties. Skin gets the natural glow and aloe vera is soothing on the skin too.

5. Honey

Dryness is one of the reasons for uneven skin tone. Dry, damaged skin starts looking lifeless and darker over time. If you moisturise the skin, it will start getting the natural glow back. Apply honey with powdered milk or essential oil like almond oil to the entire face and let it settle for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and exfoliate your face.

6. Tomato, Cucumber And Potato

While potatoes and cucumbers have bleaching characteristics, tomatoes act as a natural astringent which tighten the pores of the skin. Take 2 tablespoons of juice from each of the vegetables and mix in a bowl. Apply it to the blemishes or dark spots regularly. They will lighten over a period of time.

7. Oatmeal And Yoghurt

Fresh yoghurt has skin lightening properties while oatmeal's coarse nature makes it a great exfoliator. Take 2 tablespoons of oatmeal powder and add one tablespoon of fresh yoghurt to it. You can also add essential oils to the mixture. Apply the thick paste to your face and allow it to settle for around 15 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water.
