A lot of us will be spotted wearing leggings almost every day. But before we say anything else, let's get one thing straight, leggings are not pants. Nor are leggings tights. Pants are proper pants, like jeans or trousers. Tights are your stockings or hosiery. And leggings, they are a different category. They're what is in between tights and pants and that's what makes them so comfortable. Now that this confusion is out of the way, there are 3 golden rules you have to cross your heart and follow while wearing leggings.
1. The number one rule to follow while wearing leggings is that they should fall above your ankles. Any kind of leggings that end below your ankles create the illusion of a stunted silhouette. You also don't want your leggings to end up looking like a chooridaar. If they are long, they will undoubtedly get collected in rings at the bottom. So make sure you check the length before you grab a pair of leggings.
2. The second rule you need to keep in mind is to always, always wash your leggings before you wear them. Maybe not every single time, but at least after every two wears. Leggings, as was pointed out earlier, are not pants, denims or tights. Leggings tend to lose their shape faster than the rest. So you need to wash them more frequently to help the leggings take the shape of your body and not appear ill-fitted and loose.
3. Last but not the least, experiment with them. They are the most versatile piece of clothing in your wardrobe. You can literally wear leggings with anything and everything. A long buttoned-down shirt with ankle-length booties or a turtle-neck top with knee-high boots. Or you could just wear a crop top, a smart overcoat and a pair of stilettos for a night out. Also, if you want to go extremely bold, go for prints! Leggings with some prints on will definitely help you make a statement!
