Shiney, on most occasions, shared home food of Mustafa Dossa, a 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case accused.
Dossa would have non-veg food while Shiney freaked out on vegetarian stuff, prison officials said.
Shiney and Dossa were lodged in adjacent cells, each of them having a small room to himself. The doors of the cell would open from 6 am to 11 am and from 2 pm to 5 pm, providing them opportunity to interact and even take a stroll.
There are only six cells in the high-security jail which hold a person each, while other cells have groups of prisoners lodged inside.
Everyday, Shiney used to take morning walk and return to cell thereafter, a source said, adding the first thing the actor did in the morning was read newspapers, for which Dossa picked the tab.
Shiney would grab Bombay Times, Mid-Day and After-Hours supplement of DNA to catch up with Bollywood news, and then turned to other papers.
Shiney, however, did not violate any prison rule, and always did what he was asked to do, sources said.
Occasionally, his wife Anupam came to see him.
