How This Faridabad University Became Secret Meeting Spot For Terrorists

The Al Falah University in Faridabad, about 45 km from Delhi, has emerged as the epicentre of the planning for the blast that ripped through the heart of the national capital on November 10. The investigation into the terror incident is focused on four doctors working at the university who are being linked to the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad. The university has claimed it had "no connection" with them.
A room in the Al Falah premises has emerged as a meeting hub for the doctors involved in the blast conspiracy. Dr Umar and his associates secretly met at building number 17 of the university. Bomber Roamed Delhi Before Blast, Caught On CCTVs In 50 Places: Sources

The police have mapped the route of the bomber behind the 10/11 Red Fort blast. Dr Umar Mohammad, alias Dr Umar un-Nabi, had travelled across Delhi before the blast on Monday evening, suggest sources, with CCTV cameras spotting him in dozens of places. The police have now stitched the visuals to map the route he had taken after fleeing Faridabad.

Fleeing Faridabad, he first reached Firozpur Jhirka via Mewat in Haryana. He then took the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. He spent the night at a dhaba and slept in the car. The next morning, he returned to Delhi. CCTV cameras spotted him crossing the Badarpur toll at 8:13 am on Monday.

He stopped in Ashok Vihar in North West district, supposedly for a meal. Sources suggest he then visited a mosque in the Central district. Dr Umar reached the Red Fort parking in the North District at 3:19 pm.

While he was roaming in Delhi, the vehicle was also spotted in Connaught Place and Mayur Vihar before he parked it in the Sunehri Masjid parking lot in Chandni Chowk. It remained parked till 6:30 am, with reports suggesting that Umar did not leave the car for even a second.

Delhi Blast LIVE Updates: Red EcoSport Car Was Reportedly Used To Transport, Stockpile Ammonium Nitrate

Investigators suspecting Dr Umar Mohammad, bomber in Delhi blast case, and his team reportedly used the red EcoSport car to transport and stockpile ammonium nitrate over time.

Nov 13, 2025 08:30 (IST)

Explained: What Is Ammonium Nitrate?

Ammonium nitrate – formula NH4NO3 – is an odourless, white crystalline chemical widely used as a fertiliser but is also a powerful oxidiser that, under the right conditions, can cause a powerful explosion resulting in fires that burn at high temperatures for sustained periods.

Ammonium nitrate by itself is not considered an explosive.

It needs to be mixed with an secondary substance - in this case, fuel oil, which is a petroleum-based product - and triggered by an external detonation that gives off immense heat to explode.

In fact, it can be mixed with almost any kind of volatile substance. But the quality is important; pure NH4NO3 is chemically and thermally stable, meaning it requires that external detonation.

And a stronger initial blast is more likely to result in a larger and more stable explosion.

When combined with fuel oil, it becomes ammonium nitrate fuel, or ANFO, which is a commonly used bulk explosive in the construction and mining industries. It is popular because it is an inexpensive and simple explosive to manufacture and, if handled correctly, safe to store.

Its explosive power is another reason it is popular.
