Atlanta City, New Delhi:

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was angry, upset and humiliated on Saturday but on Sunday SRK was in a forgiving mood.

On Sunday, he said he won't ask for an apology since the officers who detained him were only following procedure.

While in Atlantic City he got his sense of humour back.

"Sorry I am late. Was delayed at the airport. I kept telling them I am Shah Rukh but I realised they were angry about my name being Khan," said Shahrukh.

And angrier fans spoke for him.

"Unfortunate. He is Shah Rukh, how can they do this? Asked an SRK female fan in the US.

"We will take the issue to the US government, we want an explanation," said another fan of the king Khan.

The megastar went about his business in Atlantic City trying to forget what happened at the Newark Airport.

After Friday night's incident, SRK now says he won't seek an apology from the US officials.

But not everybody is ready to let go of the matter yet.

Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor joined the debate on twitter.

"To all who asked about SRK, we all found it offensive and have asked the US to look into it," said Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for External Affairs.

The American authorities maintain it was a routine formality. The US Customs and Border Protection Force said:

"Khan was questioned only for one hour and six minutes. And SRK was delayed mainly because the airline misplaced his baggage."

After his Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani moment was practically ruined, SRK has calmed down, even joking about wanting to frisk actress Anjelina Jolie if she ever came to India.
