A 12-year-old boy died and another child was injured today when a makeshift platform erected for an election rally collapsed at Kochas in Bihar's Rohtas district.
DGP Neelmani said soon after RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav addressed the gathering at a ground and boarded his chopper, the crowd got on to the platform to wave him off when the makeshift stage collapsed and the boy was crushed under it.
Another child, who injured in the collapse, was admitted to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger, the DGP said.
The platform was constructed yesterday for an election rally of Congress leader Md Azharuddin at the same ground, close to the dais constructed for the RJD chief.
