Kidnapped engineer's family pleads for help

Hyderabad: With terror in their eyes, his photo in their hands, Krishna Rao's family poses for cameras.

For three days, there has been no news of Krishna who was allegedly kidnapped by Bodo militants in Assam while he was supervising construction on NH 31.

"All that we want is that we should get some news about his safety and he must return home,''‬‪ says the engineer's daughter.

The family lives in Gannavaram, in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Forty-five-year-old Krishna Rao had been working for the last 10 months as Project Manager with the East Coast Insulation company.

"We are very worried. When we ask them what happened, they say there is still confusion, we will inform you. It has been over three days, they haven't done anything. I and my children are living a nightmare,''‬‪ says Krishna's wife Rajeswari.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Kumar Gogoi has assured Andhra Pradesh chief minister K.Rosaiah that special teams are hunting for Rao.
