Govt mulls new interlocutors for Kashmir

New Delhi: Home Minister Chidambaram and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met the Prime Minister separately on Monday. The issue of interlocutors for Kashmir came up in both the meetings, but no final decision has been taken yet.

Sources have told NDTV that there may be three interlocutors in all, and the chief interlocutor will be someone of the Cabinet rank.

In the last 3 months over a 100 civilians have died in the valley. The group of interlocutors will begin the process of a sustained dialogue with all the groups in Kashmir.
