Panaji:
The Goa Police made their first arrests in the Margao blasts case on Saturday.
The police picked up Vinayak Patil and Vinay Talekar from Ponda, in connection with an improvised explosive device (IED) found in Verna on the eve of Diwali, at the venue of an annual demon effigy (Narkasur) competition.
Police sources say both men were associates of Malgonda Patil, the accused who died in the Margao blast - also in Goa.
Patil and Yogesh Naik died when their bomb allegedly went off before time, in a crowded marketplace on October 16. The same night at least 3 more IEDs were found and diffused in Verna and Margao.
