New Delhi: A case was filed against environmentalist environmentalist RK Pachauri, who has been accused of sexually harassing a colleague, by the Delhi Police on Wednesday.

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report was filed before a Metropolitan Magistrate in Saket court here as part of the supplementary chargesheet in the case.

The court has listed the matter for further hearing on July 14.

The police had filed a chargesheet against the former chief of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) under the IPC.

Mr Pachauri was accused of sexually harassing a woman colleague in 2015.

He stepped down as the chairperson of the UN Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change in February last year and proceeded on leave from TERI, where he was the Director General.

The female researcher, who accused him of sexual harassment in November, quit her job at TERI, alleging she was treated badly. TERI denied the charges.

On February 8, 2016, Mr Pachauri was appointed executive vice-chairman of the organisation. Following severe criticism, he went on an indefinite leave from the organisation on February 12, 2016.

In January 2017, the Delhi court ruled that Mr Pachauri was free to travel abroad and would not have to seek the court's permission for that, allowing his plea for discharge of surety.

The court allowed his application for discharge of surety while considering an earlier order of the Sessions Court by which he could not leave the country without permission till the investigation was over.

Directing that Rs 5 lakh furnished as surety by the accused be discharged, Metropolitan Magistrate Chetna Singh had said, "It has been stated that as per order dated March 21, 2015, certain conditions were imposed upon the accused, which included seeking prior permission of the court by him before leaving the country till investigation is over. Now charge sheet has been filed and investigation is over."
