Chennai:
In Tamil Nadu, former chief minister and DMK chief M Karunanidhi will lead a statewide protest against what he calls the Jayalalithaa government's false cases against the DMK leaders.
Karunanidhi's son, MK Stalin, will spearhead the protest in Chennai.
Last week, a number of DMK government officials and Karunanidhi loyalists were booked for land grab charges. Former minister Veerpandi Arumugam and a sitting MLA Anbazhagan are already behind bars besides four close aides of Union minister MK Alagiri.
While the DMK is calling this political vendetta, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has said the arrests are based on complaints by genuine victims.
