Cyclone Hudhud Results in Rain Across Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Cyclone Hudhud's effect resulted in continuous rains in Chhattisgarh as average rainfall of over 27 mm was recorded in the state during the last 24 hours.

As per reports of rainfall collected from the district headquarters, average rainfall of 27.5mm has been recorded in the state since Sunday, a Revenue and Disaster Management Department official said.

The average rainfall this year from June 1 to October 13 has been recorded to be 1142.9mm, the official said.

In past 24 hours, the maximum average rainfall of 95.8mm was recorded in Sukma district followed by Narayanpur 74.6mm, Kondagaon 74.2mm, Bastar (Jagdalpur) 62mm, Bijapur 51.6mm, Kanker 51.9mm, Balod 51mm, Dhamtari 35.7mm, Rajnandgaon 31.3mm, Durg 20.6mm, Koriya 8.3mm, Sarguja 5.8mm, Surajpur 13. 2mm, Balrampur-Ramanujganj 3.1mm, Jashpur 2.8mm, Raigarh 14. 7mm, Mahasamund (10.1mm), Raipur 9.8mm, Balodabazar-Bhatapara 7.4mm, Gariaband 15.8mm, Janjgir-Champa 12.9mm, Korba 11.2mm, Raigarh 14.7mm, Bilaspur 12mm, Mungeli 9.2mm, Kabeerdham 14. 1mm and Bemetara 2.2mm, the official said.

Maximum impact of the cyclone was experienced in Bastar division of South Chhattisgarh, he said.
