Congress Leader Amarinder Singh Tells AAP Not To 'Create Chaos' In Punjab

Congress leader Amarinder Singh asked AAP activists not to behave as "anarchists" saying Punjab cannot afford another era of violence and bloodshed.

Chandigarh: Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh today asked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) not to "create chaos" in the state in the name of "revolution" and said those coming from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar must realise that they have no right to spread "anarchy".

He asked AAP activists not to behave as "anarchists" saying Punjab cannot afford another era of violence and bloodshed.

Mr Amarinder Singh said spreading and circulating anonymous pamphlets asking people for "revolution" and targeting the leaders of mainstream parties is obviously an attempt by AAP to spread chaos and anarchy which is "highly condemnable and unacceptable".

"Nobody in Punjab wants the situation to go back to the dark era," he said, while hoping better sense will prevail in AAP and it will behave in a democratic manner and not as "anarchists".

"AAP should understand if they want to come here (Punjab) they can do so as a democratic party but not as anarchists crying Inqlabd zindabad and not try to demolish the whole structure of this country particularly in Punjab," Mr Singh said in Chandigarh.

The former Punjab chief minister also said that those coming from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar must realise that they have no right to spread "anarchy and unrest" in Punjab as they seem to be intending to do.

Referring to circulation of posters in Samana as alleged by Harinderpal Singh Mann, who joined Congress today, Mr Singh said, "Distribution of pamphlets to create chaos in Punjab for AAP, this is very very dangerous."

Mr Mann said that last evening, some people were distributing pamphlets in Samana to traders, shopkeepers and it talked about "Inqlab against Congress and Akali Dal". However, he said pamphlets did not bear party's name responsible for issuing it.
