It is the end of days for cheap Chinese mobile handsets which do not have a genuine IMEI number.
From the midnight of November 30, all these Chinese phones will become dysfunctional. The Genuine IMEI Implantation program, being carried out by Mobile Service Providers' Association of India across the country, is on in full swing.
The Mobile Service Providers' Association of India feels that even by conservative standards, around 2.1 crore handsets will become dysfunctional.
Owners of these Chinese-made mobile handsets have already started crowding outlets go get an IMEI number on their handsets.
