Bangalore:
Bangalore police claim to have arrested five people in connection with the Bangalore blasts at the Chinnaswamy stadium last Saturday.
All five people arrested are from Uttar Pradesh and were detained in Hubli on Tuesday, police said.
The blasts occurred near Gate no 12 of the stadium half an hour before an IPL match was about to begin. Eight people were injured.
More injury was caused to Bangalore by the fact that the two semi-finals scheduled to be held there were shifted at the last minute to Mumbai because of security concerns after the blasts. Bangalore police have protested at the decision to shift the matches.
