2G scam: Raja makes no disclosures during interrogation
New Delhi: As A Raja emerged from the room at the CBI headquarters where he has spent the last five days being interrogated, it was with the expectation that he would be allowed to return home.

Mr Raja, who was arrested seven days ago, will have to wait a little longer. The CBI asked in court for another four days to question him about the 2G scam which he is alleged to have masterminded. The judge agreed to two more days of custody for the former Telecom Minister, who is accused of selling spectrum at throwaway prices to companies in 2008 when they applied for mobile network licenses.

In court, Mr Raja received some moral support from MLAS from his party, the DMK. His body language was relaxed as he spoke to them.

Mr Raja has reason to exhale. Sources in the CBI say the agency has not recovered any incriminating documents from aids on either his homes and offices or at those of his associates. Mr Raja has also not revealed any information during his questioning that, even inadvertently, implicates either him or his associates.

The CBI now wants to confront Mr Raja with his two former aides who have also been arrested. Sidharth Behura was former Telecom Secretary, RK Chandolia worked as Mr Raja's personal secretary.
