Gurgaon:
Tragedy struck a family here, with a woman and her husband left battling for their lives following separate suicide attempts while their seven-year-old son died after being shot by the father.
25-year-old Manju tried to end her life by hanging herself in her home at village Tikkli early on Sunday morning. She was admitted to a hospital in a serious condition.
While Manju was in the hospital, her husband Pritam took his son Vaibhav to a secluded place in Fazilpur village and shot him dead.
Later, Pritam fired at himself but was brought in a critical condition to a hospital by a passer-by.
Pritam and Manju are still admitted in two different private hospitals while Vaibhav succumbed to his bullet injury on the spot at village Fazilpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police Maheswer Dayal said.
Police have recovered a revolver from the spot and said that a family dispute could be the reason behind the tragedy.
