Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai married Asser, who is a manager for the Pakistan Cricket Board, in a low-key nikkah ceremony at her home in Birmingham in the presence of their families on November 9. Congratulatory wishes poured in for the couple from the likes of prominent personalities around the world and among them was global icon Priyanka Chopra, who has worked with the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize winner on a project focusing on the importance of education among children. Priyanka shared a picture of Malala and Asser from their wedding festivities and wished her with these heartwarming words: "Congratulations! Wish you so much joy and happiness. You are an absolute vision."

Priyanka Chopra is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador who has been working towards the betterment of minorities and children's education. Malala Yousafzai is a global figure promoting education for girls.

Malala Yousafzai announced her wedding to Asser on social media on Tuesday. She shared two pictures with her husband from their nikkah and wrote: "Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead." Malala looks gorgeous in a tea-pink kurta set that she paired with minimal jewellery. Asser complemented her in a black suit. Malala was 15 when she was shot in the head by the Taliban for campaigning for girls' education in Pakistan in 2012. She survived the assassination attempt and moved to Birmingham with her family. Since then, she has been an advocate for girls' education. She graduated from Oxford University last year.

Malala was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 17 for her contributions to and struggle for promoting education for children. She shared the prize with Kailash Satyarthi, a children's rights activist.
