- English Vinglish marks the comeback of Sridevi after a 14-year sabbatical. The film features French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain and Priya Anand. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be making a guest appearance in the film.
- Sridevi was last seen in a full-fledged role in 1997 film Judaai with Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar. English Vinglish is director Balki's wife Gauri Shinde's directorial debut and produced by Balki and Eros International Media Ltd (EIML).
- "With English Vinglish, we are excited for Sridevi's return to acting and with R Balki and Gauri at the helm we believe there is a lot of anticipation around the film," Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, EIML said in a release issued here.
