Spotted: Deepika Padukone And Ranveer Singh. But We Can't Tell If They Were Together

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, co-stars of upcoming film Padmavati, were spotted outside a recording studio in Mumbai. The two actors have minimised their meetings reportedly at the request of their Padmavati director Sanjay Leela Bhansali (more about that later) but not since the last few days. Deepika and Ranveer, who are reportedly dating, were spotted together on Tuesday, after being photographed together outside a pub in Mumbai on Friday. However, this time Deepika and Ranveer carefully avoided being pictured together - they travelled in separate cars. Ranveer looked cool in a hoodie and waved at the paparazzi in style while Deepika wore a green top.

Last week, the Ram Leela co-stars were also spotted on a dinner date in Mumbai's Lower Parel. They both smiled and waved from inside the car.
  

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh recently featured in headlines after a picture of their old photoshoot went viral. The photograph, in which they are kissing (or so it seems), is from a BTS photoshoot they did for Vogue in 2015.

Deepika and Ranveer being spotted together is apparently upsetting the PR of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. In the period film Deepika plays the role of Rani Padmini of Chittor while Ranveer plays the role of Alauddin Khilji. As per the legends, Khilji fell in love with Rani Padmini just by looking at her painting and attacked the fort of Chittor. After Khilji's invasion Rani Padmini along with several women jumped into a funeral pyre and performed jauhar.

Now, the Rajput group called Karni Sena objected to film's storyline alleging that Padmavati depicts romantic scenes between rani Padmini and Khilji.

The makers and star cast have denied these claims time and again. The shooting of Padmavati was disrupted twice, Mr Bhansali was manhandled while the costumes and other set props were damaged in the process. To avoid similar incident in future, Mr Bhansali reportedly asked Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone to keep their meetings outside of work to the minimum.

Padmavati, which is expected to release later this year, also stars Shahid Kapoor, as Rani Padmini's husband Ratan Singh.
