Southern films good learning ground for Hindi actors: Madhhurima

The toughest part for Madhhurima was to adapt Bollywood style of comedy

  • "I have done a comedy in Telugu. But this ('Kamaal...') and that are different. Telugu accent and the way of creating a comedy is different. They are louder and quicker in creating dialogues. It's like creating a chaos kind of thing there. Also, they have slapstick comedy. Here (in Bollywood) it is more genuine - you see the situation and you feel like laughing. It's not like you are doing something deliberately," said the 25-year-old.

  • "I had this impression in my head of comedy that its loud and all. And Priyadarshan sir told me that I need to react to what the actor is saying. I had lost touch with this. He said, 'It's a situational comedy, you need to understand the film'," she added.
  • Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal, releasing Sep 28, also features Nana Patekar, Shreyas Talpade and Paresh Rawal. Madhhurima plays Paresh's daughter and Shreyas' love interest in the film.
  • Not worried about the pool of talent entering showbiz nowadays, she said: "There are a lot of opportunities, but at the end of the day only people with talent succeed. You need to consider it as a competition, you need to work harder. The best thing is to prepare yourself, give your best and leave rest on fate."
