Looks like there will be no Sara Ali Khan in the Anushka Sharma-produced movie that was being reported about. After much deliberation, Sara has opted out of the project reportedly because director Abhishek Kapoor is not comfortable with Sara signing other projects till Kedarnath is wrapped. Kedarnath is Sara's debut movie and is expected to release on December 21 next year. Sara is Saif Ali Khan's daughter with his first wife Amrita Singh and is reported to let her career decisions be guided by her mother, who's spent a considerable time in the industry herself. Amrita is reportedly not too pleased with Abhishek's influencing Sara to opt out of the project, stated a DNA report.
- "This development happened after an internal clash," said a source
- "Amrita is extremely involved in her daughter's career," the source added
- "She doesn't agree with Abhishek's thinking," said the source
"Amrita is extremely involved in her daughter's career and she doesn't agree with Abhishek's thinking. She feels it's okay for her to sign another project while shooting for Kedarnath, and the two have been discussing and arguing over this," DNA quoted a report as saying. In an interview with PTI previously, Prernaa Arora, one of the producers of Kedarnath has clarified Amrita "does not interfere in Sara's career" but only watches over her career choices.
The report states that the idea to include Sara in the new project was dropped because KriArj Entertainment (co-owned by Arjun N Kapoor and Prernaa Arora) is part of both films as the co-producers. "Since Prernaa is the common link, the team mutually decided that Sara won't be doing Anushka's film anymore. But this development happened after a bit of an internal clash," the source added.
In previous reports stating Sara's on board for the film from Anushka Sharma's production firm Clean Slate Films, however, also stated that Abhishek Kapoor was not particularly happy with her decision.
Sara Ali Khan, 24, co-stars with Sushant Sing Rajput in Kedarnath, which went on floors in September this year.
