A still from Bajrangi Bhaijaan
New Delhi:
Salman Khan's
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is shattering box office records into smithereens with each passing day. The actor's eighth-in-a-row blockbuster has posted the highest ever week one collection of any Bollywood film, steamrolling through the benchmarks previously set by his fellow Khans - Aamir's
PK and Shah Rukh's
Happy New Year.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:
Bajrangi Bhaijaan also made the quickest 100 crores ever, in its first weekend.
Despite having been in theatres for just a week, it's already Salman's third biggest film after 2014's
Kick and 2013's
Ek Tha Tiger:
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which released last Friday, reunites Salman with three previous collaborators who have delivered blockbusters with him before: director Kabir Khan who also made
Ek Tha Tiger, Kareena Kapoor who was his heroine in
Bodyguard, and Nawazuddin SSiddiqui who appeared in
Kick.
