Mr Kapoor, 63, tweeted in typically outspoken, somewhat provocative fashion:
The actor is the latest celebrity to join the chorus of protests against the week-long ban on meat in Mumbai to coincide with a Jain festival. In the last 24 hours, actresses Sonam Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha have been trolled for their tweets on the ban. In the past, Mr Kapoor has been attacked for criticising the beef ban in Maharashtra. Mr Kapoor, usually prompt to comment, is late to this particular party because he only just returned from a mega European holiday with his extended family.
This is the second time that Mr Kapoor has advised the country to 'jaago' over Radhe Maa. A month ago, when the controversial godwoman was the big headline of the moment, he tweeted:
