Producer S Pavamani passes away

  • Producer and distributor S. Pavamani, 78, died on Tuesday early hours at a private hospital of failure of heart.
  • Pavamani , son of the Late S. J. Pavamani and Alice, is survived by wife Sherly, son Santi and daughter Sheeba. Originally from Kozhikode, the family moved to Kochi to start a textile business. It was only later in 1959 that Sheeba films, a film distribution company, was started.
  • Pavamani has to his credit popular Hindi films like Aradhana, Haathi Mere Saathi, Mere Jeevan Saathi and Ganga Yamuna. In 1972 Chenda directed by A. Vincent was distributed. He distributed more than 100films including the likes of Avalude Raavukal and Nirmalyam.

New Delhi: Producer and distributor S. Pavamani, 78, died on Tuesday at a private hospital. He was the founder general secretary of the All Kerala Film Distributors.

Pavamani is survived by wife Sherly and children Prathap and Sheeba. Originally from Kozhikode, the family moved to Kochi to start a textile business. It was only later in 1959 that Sheeba films, a film distribution company, was started.

Pavamani has to his credit popular Hindi films like  Aradhana,  Haathi Mere Saathi, Mere Jeevan Saathi and Ganga Yamuna.

He distributed more than 100films including the likes of Avalude Raavukal and Nirmalyam.

He also produced Ayodhya, which was his first Malayalam film . It was released in 1975.

Among his other movies are Aayiram Janmangal , Aparadhi,  Vilakkum Velichavum, Ponnum Poovum, AswaRadham, Kaliyil Alpam Kaaryam, Uyarangalil, Gayathri Devi Ente Amma, Pookaalam Varavaayi and Bhoomigeethangal.
