New Delhi: It's Thursday and actress Preity Zinta is in a throwback kinda mood. Preity delved into the pitara of her memories made in Bollywood and chanced upon a photo with Shah Rukh Khan from the Veer Zaara days. Veer Zaara memories might hold the flavour of a double flashback for Preity because - a)Veer Zaara released over a decade ago in November 2004 and b)most parts of the movie was set in 1982 through flashback sequences. However, this blast from the past is clearly a behind-the-scene click from when the climax was shot at the Wagah border in Amritsar. "Veer Zaara memories! We really look like we belong to another time...right?" is how Preity captioned the photo.
Here's a quick time travel to 2004. In the Yash Chopra-directed movie, Shah Rukh was cast as Veer Pratap Singh, an Air Force officer, who landed in Pakistan's Lahore to bring back the love of his life, Zaara Haayat Khan, to India. But in an unfortunate turn of events, Veer was imprisoned on charges of being an Indian spy and spent 22 years in a Pakistani jail. The last scene is when Pakistan clears Veer of the falsely implicated charges and he makes way to his home soil with Zaara. Veer Zaara also starred Rani Mukerji, who featured as advocate Saamiya Siddiqui, the lawyer who freed Veer, 22 years later.
*khushi ke aansu*
Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta have remained co-stars since 1998 - that's when Mani Ratnam's Dil Se released. The two have also shared screen space in Kal Ho Naa Ho while all three Veer Zaara stars were also there in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with Aanand L Rai's yet untitled upcoming movie, in which he plays a dwarf. Preity Zinta is awaiting the release of Bhaiyyaji Superhitt.
