New Delhi: Lighter by some 25 kilos or so, actor Aamir Khan is all set to begin filming what's left of his wrestling biopic Dangal. On Monday, he tweeted that the final schedule of the shoot will start in two days.

This is Aamir, 51, after his weight loss:

Aamir sized upto 90 kilos or more to play the older version of Mahavir Phogat, the wrestler that the film is based on. He has lost the extra weight to play the young Mahavir. It took Aamir six months and a rigorous workout regime - which included running and cycling - to get back in shape.

Speaking to the press on his 51st birthday in March, Aamir Khan said: "I have been concentrating completely on the weight loss. Have given six months before I start shooting for the final schedule of Dangal. In the US I have been raining for almost six to seven hours daily. Running, biking, all that I can do."

Aamir also followed a prescribed diet to shed the poundage. A report in mid-day.com quoted a source as saying: "Apart from waking up on time, a special diet was also devised for Aamir. He had consumed nothing apart from what was suggested to him."

Sports drama Dangal tracks the story of how Mahavir Singh Phogat trained his daughters Babita and Geeta Phogat as wrestlers. They won medals at the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and co-produced by Aamir, Kiran Rao and Siddarth Roy Kapur, Dangal is scheduled to release this Christmas.
