New Delhi: The curiosity and excitement about Shahid Kapoor's July 7 wedding is intense, as it is about any Bollywood shaadi. On July 1, the wedding invite found its way online, as they do, and now we have more details about the card itself.

The invite to Shahid and Mira Rajput's wedding has been created by Delhi-based designer Ravish Kapoor. The card, in a colour combination of cream and turquoise, follows Shahid's brief of 'simple yet elegant'.

"The process was very quick as Shahid wanted something that had clean and simple lines. His parents did the initial meeting and suggested the cream and turquoise colour combination. Simplicity yet elegant was the theme," a source told NDTV.

Shahid apparently didn't want to use too much gold, "so there are just a few touches here and there, the rest is the design which speaks for itself."

Along with the invite went the customary gifts, but with an elegant twist a feel of exquisite India, just as Shahid wanted. The card was accompanied by 'tea and honey' for the invitees, which were hand crafted and made in India.

"Both Shahid and his parents wanted to give something that was different and yet Indian. They also wanted something that was both sweet and savoury. The two boxes contain four varieties of tea from Anandini Himalaya Tea. A boutique tea store in Delhi that creates unique blends of teas that can costume blend. Mille Fiorii Honey, which is considered the finest honey, has been used to represent the sweetness. Shahid loved it both because they were unique, hand crafted and made in India," said the source.

Shahid's stepmother, actress Supriya Pathak, said at an event in Mumbai that the wedding preparations are like in any normal house. "Lots of things happening. It is like a normal wedding house I suppose," she told the press. (Also Read: It's Like a Normal Wedding House: Supriya Pathak on Shahid's Wedding Preps)

And our source corroborated the fact, saying that both families were very involved in the card designing process: "The families were very, very involved and the final design was a family decision. Shahid has incredible attention to detail and paid close attention to each detail from the font to how the items were placed in the box. Every element in the box was discussed and fine-tuned so it suited the families' taste and aesthetics."

The source also revealed that the wedding will be an intimate affair with only 500 guests (that's small by Bollywood standards). However, "There is a reception planned for Mumbai for which a separate invite has been made," the source added.

Ravish Kapoor has designed wedding invitations for other Bollywood celebrities like Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra. In addition, he's created stationary for Hrithik Roshan, Karisma Kapoor, Ganesh Hegde and others.

Shahid, 34, will marry Delhi girl Mira in Gurgaon's Trident Hotel next week.
