New Delhi: Star couple Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Wednesday (October 11). They were joined by some of their family members and close friends. The celebrations took place at the couple's Pali Hill residence, the keys to which was finally handed over to them a couple of months ago. "On our 51st Anniversary, we want to thank our friends and families and millions of fans for their prayers & love. Saab enjoyed at his 48 Pali Hill residence. In this pic Raihan (our nephew), Kishore Bajaj and Ajay Ashar of Black Rock Developers," read a message from Saira Banu on Dilip Kumar's official Twitter account.

Dilip Kumar, 94, married co-star Saira Banu, 73, in 1966. The duo co-starred with each other in films such as Gopi, Sagina and Bairaag.
 

Last August, Dilip Kumar was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital where he was being treated for dehydration and kidney malfunction. He got discharged a week later. Shah Rukh Khan, Dilip Kumar's 'mooh bola beta,' and Priyanka Chopra had visited him at home.
 
 

Last year in December, he celebrated his birthday in hospital, where he was being treated for fever and a swollen leg.

Dilip Kumar, born Mohammad Yusuf Khan, debuted in the industry in 1944 with Jwar Bhata In his six-decade long career, he starred in acclaimed films likeMadhumati, Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam, Ganga Jamuna, Ram Aur Shyam and Naya Daur. He is known for playing tragic heroes in films like Andaz, Baabul, Mela and Deedar. Dilip Kumar was last seen in 1998 film Qila.

Dilip Kumar was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan in 2015, Padma Bhushan in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994.
